REVELATIONS VERSE 21 CHAPTER 22 – LESSON 1C
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.
“The grace of the Lord Jesus is endless and without exception, His grace is available to those who are accepting of a covering of his shed blood and profess faith in the father he loves. This is a proper beginning for exploring the Grace or favor that Christ has for mankind.
- Therefore, brothers since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus…Let us draw near God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith…
The Grace or Favor of Christ is available to all humanity no one is excluded from the availability of this free gift. Christ excludes no one. An exclusion from Christ’s favor and grace is granted to anyone who by choice rejects and neglects the gospel message.
“Come unto me I will give you rest!”
The New Testament is copious with references to the grace and favor of Christ. For the opening lesson on the grace of Christ numerous references will be sighted.
In future lessons select scriptures will be fleshed out and explored for deeper meaning.
40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.
The “He” of this verse is none other than the divine human child Jesus note the key words filled with wisdom…a by-product of grace which came from God the child’s Father in Spirit and in reality or truth.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,[d] who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
God speaks and it is done nothing can withstand a true command of God. His “word” is final authoritative and unimpeachable.
Christ is that Word!
He took on mortality and came to dwell in the shell of a child and grow to manhood in the shell of a man. His glory was seen immediately by his parents, by the stars, by the angels, by the shepherds in the field, by wise men, by disciples, by enemies, by Jews, by Gentiles by prophets, priests and kings, BILLIONS HAVE BEEN, (In the event that you gasp at this number; Have you ever counted the sand on the seashore or the stars in the sky?), touched by his presence and his words and his “Amazing Grace”.
Every knee will bow to him at his second coming.
His glory is the glory of the “One and Only” His grace or favor are absolutely infallible, genuine and authentic. He is the Truth the Life and the Way!
16 From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,[e][f] who is at the Father’s side, and has made him known.
The fullness of Christ’s grace was spent in agony on the cross and for three days in the pit of hell.
Christ was struggling with separation from the grace of his father.
This was so because the weight of sin, present and future, of the entire human race was resting in Christ’s mortal and spiritually dead being. Christ was struggling to regain his divinity and to overcome the keeper of the keys of death Satan and his horde of demons.
Christs struggle and His victory over the death of his mortal body, and the sin laden death of His Spirit, and his escape from the clutches of Satan, with the keys of death in his possession, required three hellish days.
Christs divine glory and his personal sinless life carried Him back to his beloved Fathers right hand where he wears the Victors crown as the first to be resurrected from mortal and spiritual separation from God.
Christs willing sacrifice of himself was the sacrifice God acknowleged worthy of the forgiveness of all sin for all time to those with an accepting faith in the Grace of his Son.
God made Christ known through His humble existence as a mortal and his restoration as “God the One and Only.
From His divine presence at the side of God Jesus heaps His blessings on those who have faith in his accomplished victory over sin, death and devil.
Christ invites us to “come and dine” in the Mansion he has prepared for His chosen ones, who submit to his rule of life here on earth and in eternity to come.
33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all.
Christ Makes one of his blessings “great power” to withstand the assault of the world, of Satan, and all ungodly forces. Christ showers his favor and grace on all his devoted followers.
8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.
One glowing example of such power and strength and the amazing grace of God is recited by Stephen who crept ever closer to death with each stone being hurled at his earthly shell.
At the very edge of death Stephen called out,
“Lord Jesus, receive my spirit”
Then he fell on his knees
And cried out
“Lord Jesus do not hold this sin against them.
…There is indeed victory in Jesus…
22 News of this reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23 When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. 24 He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
It is evident to all the world, admittedly or not, when God’s grace and favor, fill men with His spirit. The truth and righteousness of a good man of God avails much for them and for God’s Kingdom.
43 When the congregation was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.
The work of God is to be carried from each convert to the next Spiritual health requires it to be so.
3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.
No work for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom will go unnoticed or unrewarded.
At his will and in his time Christ will enable his seed planted in sinful hearts to produce repentance or rejection. God’s sheep know his voice and will not resist the Holy Spirit when called.
When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.
The Voice of the Sheppard was made evident.
32 “Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
There are Hundreds of billions, (Actually an unknown number. But have you ever counted the sands on the seashore?), who have received their call to glory and who await Spiritual restoration to Eternal Vessels made “new” by Christ.
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit[a] of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God[b] by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him and for his name’s sake, we received grace and apostleship to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith. 6 And you also are among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.
You are receiving a call to sainthood. Can you hear him now? Will you receive the call of grace? Will you be obedient to the call? Will you allow Christ to grow your faith muscle into all he has in store for you, now and in eternity?
21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Lay your sins at the feet of Jesus and take up your cross and follow Him come what may!
THE GIFTS OF GOD ARE ETERNAL
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ?
May the Grace of God empower you and give you a call to encourage you and others in your daily faith walk to heaven.
