God’s Words Immortal Bible Study for the Word “Immortal” or “Immortality” Passage #1 Lesson 4

Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth WILL PASS AWAY but MY WORDS will NEVER PASS AWAY.”

Revelation 21:1 [The New Jerusalem] Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

Since our key word in both verses to be covered today is earth let’s explore the word earth or earthly.

The “currant” earth is home to each of us during the “mortal phase” of our existence called “life”.  Opposed to the “immortal or eternal phase” of existence called “death”

This phase called death is an interesting subject for believers and non-believers in Christ.

Christ’s parable, of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31, recounts the conditions of the beggar and Lazarus, after their deaths.

Lazurus died and was carried by angels to “Abraham’s side”. The place of “blessedness” to which the “righteous dead” go to await “future vindication”, according to NIV footnote for 16:22.

Upon the death of the rich man he is buried “in hell”, where he was in torment.

For the rest of this account read the above passage in Luke 16:19-31.

Christ, along with the redeemed saints who accepted him during their lifetime, will separate “sheep” from goats” at the time Christ raptures the living saints and immortality or eternity begins for the “raptured and redeemed saints” in a new a residential setting in paradise with Christ.

The New Jerusalem will be the eternal residence of each believer of Christ in eternity.

CHRIST WILL SEPARATE THE SHEEP FROM THE GOATS

All believers in Christ will be a part of the “Bride of the lamb”. Revelation 10 says that the bride is ‘the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God” This bride is none other than the Church made spotless and pure by Christ’s shed blood at Calvary.

But the church is only a figure of a corporeal and tangible city or New Jerusalem  yet to come after the white throne judgment when all sin and sinners and the polluted heavens and earth have been consigned to their eternal separation from the righteous trinity, the angels and the saints.

Revelation 21:24 The nations will walk by it’s light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor to it.

The nations mentioned in this verse are made up of the righteous, called, pre destined, forgiven blood bought saints from all nations passing in the Light of the triune Godhead. This nation does not consist of only Jews or Gentiles. These nations represent all God’s elect.

Not just kings but paupers but persons from every social rank in between the two.

It is said that former earthly kings see their former greatness and wealth as poverty in comparison to the brilliance of the light by which they now and eternally will walk. These kings contentedly yield all former splendor to the “Light of the New Jerusalem!!!!
