God’s Words Immortal is the name I have chosen for this Blog. It is also the name and theme for the second study series.
Just as I used key words in the study entitled God Is Spirit I will now explore what the Bible has to say with regard to the words “God’s,” “words” and “immortal”
What do we find in Scripture about GOD’S?
Passage # 1 GOD’S
Our first reference is found in 2Ch 20:15 For the battle is not yours but GOD’S I recommend that you read the entire 20th chapter of 2nd Chronicles to get the full impact of the surrounding story.
Verse 20:15 is spoken by GOD through Jahaziel of the priestly line of Levi, (Jacob’s son through his wife Leah.) to King Jehoshaphat King of Judah. A much larger army made up of Moabites and Ammonites and some Meunites were threatening to make war against Judah.
20:15 He (Jahaziel) said: “Listen King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not your’s but GOD’s…17 YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO FIGHT THIS BATTLE. Take up your positions stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you.
Often we as christians allow the circumstances and events facing us over power us to the extent that we forget that GOD is in control.
Not every battle we face will be fought so that we are victorious. However, it is always incumbant on us to seek GOD’S will in all circumstances. It is always reassuring to know that as we commit our cares and concerns to GOD He hears and instructs us to… take up our positions stand firm and see what deliverance He will give us.
OUR BATTLES ARE ALSO GODS BATTLES!
